The Lovers Tea

The Lovers reminds us to follow our hearts when faced with big decisions. It can be scary when faced with a crossroads but usually our heart knows what’s best, even when it’s hard. It’s foolish to make a decision that is safe in the moment but will only cause more pain and difficulty in the future.

This morning’s tea was inspired by The Lovers. The represent love, balance and bright futures ahead. They call for a warm, heart opening tea, to give us courage.

The Recipe

I blend similar to the way I bake. A little of this, a dash of that, and always measuring the best ingredients with your heart. I often carry the carefreeness of the Fool around my kitchen with me. Generally, I try to have around 2 teaspoons of herbs for each cup of water. You can mix and match the amounts of herbs depending on what you are wanting to call in to your day. Follow your heart.

  • Nettle to call in protection and ward off negative energy.

  • Rose to open our hearts to love.

  • Hibiscus for joy

  • Cinnamon for healing and mental clarity.

  • Steep for about 10 minutes in very hot/almost boiling water. Be sure it’s covered to keep the good stuff in. Add a little honey for sweetness if you wish.

(Ex: 1 tsp Nettle, 1/2 tsp Rose, 1 tsp Hibiscus, and 1/2 tsp Cinnamon)

Steep for 10 minutes and enjoy.

Stand steady in all you have built. Structure will become your sanctuary.
